Medicare is incredibly individualized, it is not one plan fits all, that is why working with an independent broker that has ALL the options is so important.
First decide if Medicare is the best option for you, because in some cases, employer coverage or staying on your TriCare may actually be a better option than going onto Medicare. Transparency is key.
If Medicare is indeed the best option, then I will go over when and how to enroll into Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B. No need to stress about timelines, that's what I'm for! Coming off of employer coverage and need the L564 form to ensure you don't receive a late enrollment period? I got you covered.
Your friend has a Medicare Advantage Plan and swears by it but your neighbor has a Medicare Supplement and states it is truly the best option to go, so now what? We will discuss both options so you can decide what is best for you. A plan that works amazing for one person may not be the best option for the next, so taking time to go over exactly what you are looking for in regards to your insurance is top priority.
Medicare Supplement, also known as a Medigap Plan, is one option Medicare gives you once you decide to go onto Medicare. A Medicare Supplement is very black and white; Medicare pays 80% of everything and the remainder 20% is your responsibility- that is where a Medicare Supplement comes in. You have a monthly premium and in return, after the yearly deductible is satisfied you pay NOTHING. ALL the letters, Plan G and Plan N work EXACTLY the same way, so if you have a Plan G but notice the premium has gone up too high for your liking, let's shop around to see if we can get your premium lowered. It is the only thing Medicare has made truly easy, allowing the plans to all work the same way. There is no network, you can go anywhere in the country that accepts Medicare, giving you total freedom and peace of mind while you visit your grandbabies in Arizona or on the golf course in Florida. Medicare Supplements do not include prescription drug coverage or dental/hearing/vision, so I will ensure those are set into place as well.
Not a fan of having a monthly premium and are looking for an "all in one" option? Wonderful, a Medicare Advantage Plan may be the perfect fit! Most Medicare Advantage Plans do not have a monthly premium, they have built in prescription drug coverage, dental/hearing/vision, silversneakers (for all you gym lovers), over the counter benefits, plus more, all included! Medicare Advantage plans come with a network, so you and I will sit down and go over every doctor, specialist, cologist that you see to ensure everyone is in network. No need for you to call around, let me take the leg work from you.
What about the letter D, what is that? Part D stands for Drugs in the Prescription Drug Plans. Since Medicare Supplements do not include drug coverage, it is oftentimes the most important part of your Medicare since we all know medications can be incredibly expensive; we will go over each and every medication to confirm you are on the best Prescription Drug Plan for you. Need assistance with the cost of medication? I have patient assistance applications for many of the expensive medications that are out there, access to multiple different sources to check if I am able to get prescription drug costs lower, and 10 years of specializing in this specific area.
You are my priority. I will review your prescription drug plan each and every year as those can change drastically each year. Found out your doctor is no longer in the network with your current Medicare Advantage Plan? Don't think twice, we will go over all the options that do have your doctor in the network. Your Medicare Supplement received a large increase and you don't want to wait to switch to a lower premium? Don't wait, let's get an application submitted to try and get that premium lowered immediately. When everything in the world is going up in cost, your Medicare Supplement shouldn't be one of them.
